From May 1st to October 31st 2010 in Shanghaian extraordinary visual event is due to take place expecting 70 million visitors – the Shanghai Expo 2010.
With a theme of “Better City, Better Life,” the 2010 Shanghai Expo is about creating and envisioning a better living in future urban environments. Expo 2010 will create blueprints for future cities and harmonious urban life styles, providing an extraordinary educational and entertaining platform for visitors from all over the world. For art lovers out there a Chinese wiki – ArtSpeak China – dedicated the the local art scene and China and describing itself as “a bilingual, online resource devoted to contemporary Chinese art.” Hopefully it will develop over time so one to bookmark.

If spending a reasonable amount of time in China one thing you might find yourself unconsciously picking up is the hand signals for numbers 1 to 10. The first 5 are pretty obvious but the Chinese have a system of showing the numbers from 6 to 10 using one hand. A post here from the the UK’s Guardian newspaper shows how this is done…
